Top 10 Tips For Sellers

Getting your home ready to sell can be emotional and very overwhelming. When you list your home For Sale with me, I simplify the process by putting you in touch with the right professionals to help you get your house looking its best. There is no need to stress. I have your back. We will walk through your home together, devise a list of what needs to get done to bring you the highest price possible. I then explain the process from A-Z so by the time the For Sale sign is on your front lawn you are prepared for what will follow. Before you know it, your house will be "Sold" and you can look ahead to your imminent move. Here are a few things to keep in mind when preparing your house for sale.

  1. City garbage, recycling and green bins belong to the house, not the owner

  2. Register change of address at Canada Post

  3. Send change of address cards to friends, family

  4. Let utilities know you’ve sold your house (Enbridge, Hydro, Rogers/Bell, etc)

  5. Let your insurance agent know you’re changing ownership

  6. Arrange for removal of excess garbage and unwanted items - Call 1-800-GOT-JUNK

  7. Plan an estate sale at least one month prior to closing

  8. Arrange for movers one month prior to closing

  9. Patch any large holes left when removing items from walls

  10. Collect all warranties, manuals and commonly used trades in a binder for new buyer (a kind gesture that is greatly appreciated)
